Santa Clarita, Calif., – Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, Inc.’s Rubber Ducky Regatta is back and bigger than ever. Ten thousand little yellow rubber duckys will race across the lagoon at Castaic Lake on October 20th. Fifth District Supervisor Michael Antonovich has accepted the role of Honorary Chairman for the Regatta. Supervisor Mike Antonovich will be in attendance at the festival to pluck the winning duck and award the Grand Prize. The Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, Inc. (SDFHC) was established in 1980 and named for long time Val Verde resident and minister, the late Reverend Samuel Dixon. A not-for-profit community health center, SDFHC serves the greater Santa Clarita Valley, and is governed by a twenty member board of directors, all of whom are Santa Clarita residents. SDFHC promotes its mission to enhance wellness by providing quality primary health care services and health education to unserved and underserved residents, with a special emphasis on serving the uninsured. Easily accessible services are available for the entire family in both English and Spanish. Medi-Cal, Blue Cross Medi-Cal and Healthy Families are all accepted, and a sliding fee scale is offered, keeping health care affordable for all. SDFHC provides services at the Canyon Country Clinic, the Val Verde clinic, the part time clinic located at the Newhall Elementary School and at outreach programs for the students at Cal Arts and COC.
